A convincing win thanks to building a big first innings total which proved too much for the opposition. There were some really good things in this performance - nearly everyone scored runs and helped keep the scoreboard ticking over, while we were at the crease. With Monty playing the anchor role it meant that we batted out our full overs. Apart from quite a few byes, which we ran well, their fielding was good and an excellent example. The lesson we should be taking from their fielding is that more often than not, fielders at this level will catch the ball if you hit it in the air.
They had one good batsman who punished the bad balls (again the obvious lesson from this is: don't bowl bad balls) but we picked off the rest of the batters. It was good to see Austin Lees and Gabriel claim good catches and the wickets shared between five bowlers. Apologies to Caiden for us wrapping up the win before he had the chance to bowl.
Final match of the season is against Holmesdale on Thursday, a 20-over game. We've had a really good season, winning five out of six. Let's keeping it going for one last time: see out the overs, run hard between the wickets, support each other in the field and keep going right til the end.
