LPCC hosted the match at the Hawkenbury Ground, and elected to field first after winning the toss. Freddy started the match well by bowling and catching their opening batsman in the first over. Following this strong start Nat dismissed their other opener, and Reuben’s bowling took two more in the 12th over. Luke then bowled and caught their next batsman, followed by bowling the next in his next over. Freddy then ran out the next batsman, while Terry bowled their 11th man. BYG had a strong batting side, with 3 players retiring not out at 35.
Olly and Freddy led the scores when batting in the second innings. Nat needed to use Jack as a runner for his innings after injuring his ankle earlier in the field. Steady batting got the total runs up, with Joe holding well at the end of the innings. However, ultimately, the strength of the opposition’s fielding held up and kept the total score down.
A good team effort and concentration from all helped the team to a decent score of 87, and to form ideas of how they can improve their performance going forward.
Nat captained the team this weekn and Jack was the team's wicket keeper.
Thanks to Duncan for doing the scoring, and to Freddie Hulbert for umpiring the match.
