Linden Park U15’s remain unbeaten in the League after a closely contested match with Withyham at The Higher Cricket Ground. Winning the toss, Withyham elected to bat but lost both openers early to some quick and accurate bowling from Felix and Dishan. However some lethargic fielding from Linden Park allowed Withyham back into the game with J Allan retiring not out on 35. Most of the Linden Park bowlers contributed wickets and Withyham finished on 115 for 8 after their 25 overs.
In reply Archie raced to 20 off 19 balls but as the run rate slowed he brought Felix up the order and the decision was vindicated with a flurry of boundaries accompanied by Jake who reached 17 off only 10 balls before being bowled. With the game in the balance and notable contributions from Diishan and Jack in fading light, Linden Park were seen home with 5 balls to spare. Player of the match went to Dishan who took 2 wickets and contributed 15 runs to the chase.

As the evenings are starting to draw in, we are aiming to start at 5pm so we can play a full match but appreciated this might be tricky for working parents - message Sarah if you need help with lifts. All players, and those parents that are able, arrrive 4pm to help set up (usual boundary rope, square line, scoreboard, scorers table etc). Players are also reminded that for home games, their responsibility ends once everything is cleared and packed away not at the end of the match!
