Our best performances were in the first and last games - we lost both but the effort levels were very impressive. The first game was against what must have been the best team in the tournament and we bowled pretty well. Although they were eventually comfortable winners, what was good was that they didn't bowl us all out. They didn't have any weak links in their bowling line-up and in the quarter-final which we saw they must have taken at least 10 wickets against their opponents.
We played the second and third matches with seven men so it was good to win the second. We lost the third after a batting collapse though there wasn't really much between the two sides. By the time we played the final game, we only had six players but we made the opposition really work hard for their win and if we had had the full eight it might have been another story.
Again, big thanks to the Under-9s who played and contributed - Austin and Morgan. Special mention to Nick Greenslade for a fine job (as ever) managing the team and umpiring on a very long, hot day.
