A wonderful sunny morning of softball cricket at the Nevill for our U9's

A huge well done to our two U9’s boys teams, the Wizards and the Warlocks, who went along and played in the Forty5 softball competition at the Nevill yesterday. It was a long morning for them, but their enthusiasm and excitement didn’t wane for one moment….. unlike some of the adults! We saw some excellent bowling, plenty of 4’s, some 6’s that were knocked out of the park and a one handed dive & catch that would have Ben Stokes in awe. The Wizards romped home winning three of their four games.
A huge thank you to our two umpire/coaches Matt and Isla for managing the boys so well and keeping them buoyed up when things got tough in the field. And to Andrew Corner and Rob McGregor for coming along and scoring. While sipping coffee and basking in the sunshine would have been preferable I’m sure, they maintained steely concentration throughout the four matches.
I’m delighted to report that future of Linden Park cricket is in safe hands…
Next up, Linden Park will be hosting the return festival on the 10th July. U9’s update availability please and any offers of help on the day from the wider club would be much appreciated.
